RUN 547 - Black Hawk Down Run
(inspired by Padre and Fearless' memories of 20 year's ago in Mogadesciou? when they had to literally run through blood and guts!)

In spite of au uninspring weather forecast, the Hash took place in very dry conditions in Valmasque Pqrk in Sophia Antipolis on Sunday 17th June. The Hares, Padre and Fearless (visiting from the UK) set a woodland course which wasn,t difficult to follow, although Sneaky Bastard and Perpetual Motion, who was markedly relaxed and undriven today, managed to lose the trail and find a short cut back in the second half of the Hash (remarkebly avoiding a Down Down for this misdemeanour!) Runners and Walkers used the same trail, though not often crossing each other's paths, but it was well thought out as the arrival was staggered to avoid a long wait for the first thirst quenching beer at the beer stop.

The circle was precided over by the Antipodean visitor, former Religious Adviser Suck On, and assisted by trainee R.A. Sneaky Bastard. Suck On was invited to join in a toast with the presiding R.A. Padre and The Grand Master, Dirty Dingus.

Down Downs were given to muglless, Dirty Dingus, and to Hashers Big End and Testicle Twister for fouling the trail. A Belgian passerby was even lured into the circle with his dog to have a drink, but seemed strangely anxious to escape.

There were a number of returning Hashers, Dirty Dingus and Sudsucker and Contess who also received a down down for her achievements in higher education, thus improving her vital statistics.

Sneaky Bastard got his ususal fair share of down downs for forgetting the Queen's birthday and, even worse, for forgetting the Queen of the Hash (Padre) and for not knowing the words to the down down songs, but happily avoided being Shit of the Week (though he was unsuccessfully nominated for arrogance). Perpetual Motion received a down down for definitely not being in motion on this Hash.

A very game Virgin Hasher this wek, Liz, even allowed herself to be given a Hash name and is henceforth to be known as Crumby Tits! She was quoted as being very pleased with her Hash name and looked as if she'd entered into a wet teeshirt competition as well.

True to form, Sneaky Bastard received a nomination for Shit of the Week, along with visiting Aussie Hasher Too Flash for standing in dog sh.. and threatening to contaminate the Circle. Padre was also nominated for putting Hashers off coming to the Hash by suggesting it was going to rain. Too Flash won the votes and was dutifully given her just desserts by Sneaky Bastard.

Finally two late comers, Skinny Tight Arse and Pre-stressed, arrived just as the proceedings were over to enjoy the delights of the meal in the Auberge Provencale in Valbonne where an excellent meal and jolly banter was enjoyed by all.
